Junior Superintendents at the Fair

The Barber County Fair is quickly approaching, July 28-31, 2022. We are asking all youth 13 and older to volunteer to be a Junior Superintendent. Your job will be to help the adult Superintendent with the entry arrangement, attaching ribbons, marking cards, or any other task they ask of you. If there is a particular department that you would like to help with, please call the Extension Office at 620-886-3971 to volunteer.

Departments will be assigned on a first come first served basis and all members will be assigned a job by May 20th.

Day Camp

Day Camp is June 8th. Sign up is due May 25th.

SC District Horse Clinic

The South Central District Horse Clinic is June 14-15, 2022 at Kingman, KS. Barber County’s own Kerry Kuhn will be the instructor! The registration is $100/Day. You can register for either day or both. The Barber County 4-H Foundation is offering Clinic Scholarships. If you are interested in applying, please send a short essay explaining your desire and need for the clinic tojgoodno@ksu.eduby May 16, 2022.

Shutterbug Photography Events 2022

Shutterbug events are photography workshops put on across the state by the Kansas State 4-H Photography Action Team. Workshops are typically scheduled as a morning session and concentrate on a variety of aspects of composition. The events typically end around Noon.

2022 State Livestock Nomination Information Released

The state livestock nomination process is transitioning to an online system this year! This will require families to plan ahead in order to successfully complete their nominations.
